Spring has Sprung
We’ve had no real winter to speak of here in Dodge. As a result we have blossoms on some of the trees, forsythia in bloom and daffodils up, too. This has been a busy month for all of us. Here's a photo of the Gwinn's on their recent trip to mexico. Travel and birthdays abound. Good news and bad news. The good news is that Chrys and Bill will be returning from Ireland in September to, once again, live in their nice home in Newfield, NY. The bad news is that our beloved pooch, Trudy, had to be put down early in Feb due to a complete liver failure. She was only 9 and we adopted her from a farm in West VA when she was just over a year old. We miss her terribly. The picture below shows Trudy looking to terrorize the mailman with her pal, Lula, on my right arm.
Nine Years
It’s been nine consecutive years that Keith and Ed have been skiing in Colorado with most of those at Copper Mountain. This year the conditions in the second week were just about perfect. Temperature in the mid 20s with just a bit of snow every night before we skiied. Ed took a warmup day before the trip to CO at Whitetail and had to use rental skis when the old bindings came apart. New bindings were installed just the day before leaving for Denver. We went out a day earlier than usual to spend a day with Keith’s cousins in Loveland. And, a lovely day it was. We met at Tara’s home with her gang, Don, Aden, and Kellen. Michael and Kerry came over for the afternoon, as well. It was a nice visit. And, speaking of visitors, the place was teeming with local elk who wander around looking for a free meal in the fields. Don took Keith and Ed on a nice two mile hike on a nearby trail. Kerry cooked a nice Italian dinner for all of us while Tara’s boys and Kerry’s boy, Shaugon, were off at a hockey game. On Sunday AM Keith and Ed were off to Silverthorne and Copper.

Just a few pics from this month’s activities. Monica and Matt were on a park picnic. The building under construction is the new building that is being put up at Seed Savers in Ireland.
